Aerial lifts and man lifts - a comparison
Aerial lift is a kind of transport where open chairs and even gondolas are moved by means of a cable at certain height from the ground. There are many types of aerial lifts including the aerial tramway, funital, gondola lift, funifor and the chair lift. The gondola is usually fixed on one side and pulled from the other side. In case of the chair lifts the cable is permanently attached. Regular maintenance and inspection of the lifts are necessary to prevent any danger. Care should be taken to provide safety against electrocutions and unexpected falls. The safety devices like the outriggers and guardrails have to be checked regularly. Man lift is a type of aerial lift that is used to hoist an individual up and down. The reason why man lifts are preferred than the aerial lifts is nothing but the cost of each. Man lifts are generally much cheaper than the other articulated lifts. Man lifts are mostly used where vertical reach is the main concern.
