Volvo C70 Ice White

A special version of the Volvo C70 has been released, with a great line in colour – if you like white.  The Ice White has a lot of extra kit that comes at no extra cost.  The £24,495 model has £2,350 of extras over the 2.0D S.

As well as the white finish of the car, the C70 Ice White has lovely leather upholstery and black trim with aluminium inserts.  There’s also eighteen inch alloy wheels to impress your friends with.

The C70 is a good looking car anyway, with a folding roof (hardtop) that comes down in 30 seconds.  It’s not the quickest car in the world (with only 136bhp) but fuel economy is good at 46.3mpg.

Bentley Continental Supersports

Bentley - Amazing Cars

Bentley - Amazing Cars

Bentley has taken a further step in the direction of ‘Poweeeeeeerrrrrr’ with the Continental Supersports – an extremely powerful car that’ll do over 200mph.  Unlike many other cars by the marque, this is a strict two seater.  The rear seats have been taken out and replaced by a luggage rack to offer more weight saving.

Power comes from a V12 six litre, twin turbo engine that puts power through to all four wheels (with a bias of 60% to the rear).  Amazingly, the car is good for 3.7 seconds to 60 and 100mph in a time that it takes many hot hatches to reach 60.

Of course, the car will be expensive.  But, if you normally buy a new Bentley anyway, I’m sure the Continental Supersports will come well within your budget and be more than enough of a car for you.

Baffling Roadworks

Posted under: Uncategorized

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of this, but on my way home this evening I passed a closed lane that was completely unexplained.  Whilst the markers clearly showed that the lane was inaccessable, I did wonder why.  When I got to the junction, this remained the case without any kind of obvious reason as to why.

Naturally, I was quite annoyed about this, considering the level of traffic at this particular junction earlier.  I know there is talk of toll on this road, so I can only assume that they’re going to try to a) close the lane to count traffic or similar or b) close it to warrant the toll charge.  Either way, it’s pretty stupid behaviour and one which I think the local MP should account for.  A lane closed on a busy section of road causes problems for a large number of people.
